Women comprise about 30% of IT-BPM workforce in India. In the coming years this percentage is only likely to increase and therefore one of the key aspects for the industry is ensuring safety of its employees and in particular women employees. As a routine feature the IT-BPM industry invests a lot in the area of security, gender diversity and inclusivity .The industry believes that working at any hours of the day is a fundamental right of every women and all stakeholders must work together in partnership to create a conducive and secure environment for women.
In order to leverage technology and encourage technology enabled solutions not only for our industry but for all in society, NASSCOM announces All India App Fame Contest – Building Apps for Women security.
NASSCOM invites application from interested Students, Developers and Corporate for Designing Apps around women safety. Your App can be of help in a distressed situation, can work as an Emergency response tool, and Raise an alarm, Crises communication or even Shooing away hooligans. Open for all, the intent is to encourage all stakeholders from society.
The shortlisted and winning entries will be showcased and facilitated at a NASSCOM event. The App will subsequently be made accessible to member organizations & anyone who wants to make use of technology to mitigate risk.
